The Ride for Rwanda Teaser

We made it through the state of Washington and are now spending our first rest day in Sandpoint Idaho! It is a much needed rest day for all of us and we are staying at the home of a family we met. Ben Biondo our driver/photographer/videographer has put together a little teaser for the upcoming documentary about the trip. You can check it out on You Tube here. Leave us some comments and let us know what you think!

Thank you to everyone for your support! The ride has been a big success so far and keep checking back here for more updates on our progress.

P.S
Photos from the ride will be coming very soon.

NorthPointe Christian Elementary Fundraiser

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the NorthPointe Christian fifth grade bike-a-thon. The fifth grade class raised over $500 dollars for TRFR!! Were were so honored to be able to be a part of that. There was a great group of people there and we were able to give out a Project Rwanda jersey to the fifth grader who raised the most money! See the pictures below.

$50,000 RAISED!!!!!

We just want to stop here and take some time to say "Thank You!" We are all very excited to report that we have now not only reached but exceeded our original goal of raising $40,000. That's right, we exceeded it. We have now raised over $50,000 for Project Rwanda.

Pause.

We really are amazed and flattered. When we first started this ride we didn't know where it would take us but we knew we were going to do our best. And now, thanks to you, we have reached our goal. We are thankful to every donation and word of encouragement we have received! But the best news is... We're not stopping now. This is just the beginning and we have even gotten on our bikes yet. We can't wait to see where this trip takes us. We have always know that we are getting the chance to be part of something much bigger then ourselves and now with humility and all our supporters behind us WE (as in everyone) are going to see what happens next.

Final Preparations

Hey all -

We're very sorry its been so long since the last update but we have been very busy preparing for the trip. Things have been going well and I'll highlight some of our most recent developments below.

- Our newest sponsors is Hammer Nutrition they will be providing us with cycling shorts and energy supplements for the trip. Has always, check out their website!

- We have a support vehicle! We'll try and get some pictures up here for you soon. The vehicle will hopefully make everything on the trip run much more smoothly and also make it easier for others to join us for a couple of days.

- One thing that is a bit more disappointing is that there will no longer be a full length documentary filmed on the trip. We know you were all looking forward to catching TRFR on the big screen but we decided it would be better to opt for a more water down simple video.

Those are the two biggest updates right now. You can expect to hear much more from us over the next week before we start and also daily on the trip!

- Team TRFR
