Well, I've learned that KSEN 1150 AM is the Oldies station in Shelby MT. Oldies radio is the most popular format, evidenced by the fact that even young men like you know lots of the oldies songs these stations play.
I've tried to get you a phone interview... It's always up to the station/newspaper if they're interested. So, if Leighton gets a call, be ready with reference to some Oldies groups or songs you are hoping KSEN 1150 AM, will play for you as you ride through. (Plug their station!)
When you talk to newspapers and radio think "sound bites" - little phrases that are catchy for the listener/reader and therefore engage the writier/reporter - giving you a better chance of getting publicity.
I've been using "The cycle of hope" as the catch phrase and made up a quote I've attributed to Leighton: "We took it literally and decided to cycle across America to provide hope for the people of Rwanda"
